Bharat: Salman, Katrina and Jackie to shoot in recreated refugee camps from Partition era in Punjab

Ali Abbas Zafar is all geared up for his next film, a period-drama titled Bharat starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Now after extensive shoots in Malta and Abu Dhabi and a quick schedule in Mumbai, we now hear that the film's team is all set for its final schedule post Diwali.

As per a report in a leading daily, the cast and crew of Bharat is gearing up for a long outdoor stint in early November, during which the Partition scenes will be shot. What's more, Salman and Katrina will be joined by Jackie Shroff, who plays the actor's father in the film. The daily quoted a source as saying, "Work on the massive sets has already started," adding that the trio will be shooting some intense sequences for a month.

Furthermore, Ali confirmed the news by saying, "Yes, the most important schedule of Bharat will begin next month. We will have lengthy sequences set against the backdrop of the Partition and refugee camps from those traumatic times will be recreated in Punjab." He also added that the Bharat team will also shooting in Delhi inside many historical buildings as the upcoming schedule focuses between the 1960s and the ’90s period towards more contemporary times.

Meanwhile, Salman will be sporting five different looks spanning 60 years, wherein a crucial part will showcase the actor in his late 20s, looking much leaner and younger. Also starring Sunil Grover, Tabu, Disha Patani and Aasif Sheikh, the film is the official remake of South Korean film Ode To My Father and is slated to release on Eid 2019. Bharat is produced by Atul Agnihotri and T-series honcho Bhushan Kumar.
