The villain in SOTY 2 is lovable but has a flip side to him, says Aditya Seal

In 2002, Aditya Seal entered the film industry with Ek Chhotisi Love Story where he played a teenager, who is sexually drawn towards an older woman played by Manisha Koirala. Post that, he was seen in films like Say Salaam India (2007) and Purani Jeans (2014) but was left unnoticed. The actor revamped his career with Anubhav Sinha’s romantic sequel Tum Bin 2 in 2016 alongside Neha Sharma and debutante Aashim Gulatii.

However, the film tanked but Aditya was appreciated for his performance. He was recently seen in Namaste England and is gearing up for his first ever negative role in Karan Johar’s Student of The Year 2.

Sharing his journey with Karan and Dharma Productions, Aditya said, “The journey with Dharma has been a little long. I have gotten to know about the role a while back and auditioned for it. Shanoo Sharma also had put in her word and they auditioned me again with Punit and it happened. It is very surreal for me because anybody would want to work with Karan Johar. It felt like my life was on auto-pilot and then to work with Tiger whom I have known for years was a great feeling.”

Talking further about his role in the film, he revealed, “I play a baddie in the film who is super stylish and supremely rich. He is the college favourite and wears expensive brands. He is a nice guy actually and teachers love him but there is a flip side to his character. He is basically the college hunk.”

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Student of The Year 2 stars Tiger Shroff and marks the acting debut of Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria. The film is the sequel to Student of The Year released in 2012 which was the launch pad of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in Bollywood.

Aditya will also be seen in director Priyadarshan’s 95th film on Netflix titled Invisible Mask which is being shot in Chennai and Pondicherry.
