Tanushree Dutta files Rs 10 crore defamation case against Rakhi Sawant for maligning her image

Tanushree Dutta ignited the #MeToo movement in India after she accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of 2008 film, Horn OK Pleasss. The actress has already filed a police complaint against the veteran actor and is taking a legal route to address the issue. Tanushree's lawyer Nitin Satpute confirmed the news to a leading channel and said, "We have filed a criminal and civil defamation case against Rakhi Sawant for maligning my client's character and image." He further stated that if she failed to reply, Rakhi would be punished for two years or fined or both.

For the unversed, Rakhi had replaced Tanushree when she walked out of Horn OK Pleasss in 2008. Now after a decade when Tanushree opened up her ordeal, Rakhi termed her as a 'liar' and pointed out that nothing of that sort happened when she shot the song with Nana.

"She has just woken up after a coma of 10 years. I don't like saying such things about a woman. I respect women. But this Tanushree Dutta who has returned from America after 10 years is vomiting such things, because she has exhausted all the money from her bank account and has no work, has nothing and is blaming Nana Patekar ji," Rakhi had said at a press conference.

Meanwhile, Nana has also denied all charges against him and called Tanushree's motives as "malicious."
