Luv Ranjan denies #MeToo allegations against him, issues a statement

There is no stopping the #MeToo momentum in India. It is spreading like wildfire and engulfing everyone who comes in its path. Grave allegations have been levied against Vikas Bahl, Nana Patekar, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Sajid Khan, Subhash Ghai and several others. In this list director Luv Ranjan’s name was also added. He was accused of asking an actress to strip during an audition. However, the director has issued a statement refuting all such claims.

He wrote in his statement, “This has probably been the longest day of my life. Since the time I have read the allegations, I have been wanting to react to them. I have been wanting to shout out loud that everyone has gone mad, I have been wanting to scream that I am not this man, I have been wanting to clear my name.  Friends and Family have shown great support, support that has made me indebted to them for life.”

The allegations on Ranjan is pretty shocking especially when actress Deepika Deshpande Amin who accused Alok Nath of sexual misconduct said that when she reunited with the actor in a film he was well-behaved thanks to Ranjan's stern conduct.
