The #MeToo movement has become a storm in India and every day there are new names added to the ever-growing list of perpetrators. Tanushree Dutta triggered the moment when she accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment and intimidation. Post that, horrific sexual misconducts of Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Utsav Chakraborty and Kailash Kher surfaced. Now, Subhash Ghai’s name has also been added to the list. An anonymous woman shared her nightmarish experience on Twitter and revealed that years ago the filmmaker had drugged and raped her.
She wrote in the Twitter post, “In the beginning, he would take me to music recordings and I would have to sit there till very late at night with other male members. When recordings finished, I took an auto home or he would drop me. He slowly started putting his hand on my thigh, giving me a big hug saying that I did good that day." She also revealed that he would call her for script sessions at his apartment in Lokhandwala which he termed as his “thinking pad.” She wrote, “In one of the script sessions, he started talking about how misunderstood he was in the industry and only I was the one who loved him. He pretended to weep and put his head on lap. Then when he was getting up, he kissed me forcefully. I was shocked and left that day."

However, Ghai has issued a statement denying the allegations. A portal shared his statement in which he wrote, “As I hear some allegation made against me...I state hereby to the best of my truth: It's very sad that it's becoming a fashion to malign anyone known bringing some stories from the past without any truth or half-truth if all. I deny strictly and firmly all false allegations like these. I have always respected every woman in my life and at the workplace. If she claims this way sic, she should go to a court of law and prove it. Justice will be done. Or I will go for defamation certainly."

Nana, Alok Nath, and Vikas Bahl have already been issued notices by FWICE. CINTAA has issued a show cause notice to Alok whereas Tanushree has registered a case against Nana and three others in the sexual harassment case.
