Singer Abhijeet accused of sexual misconduct; he denies by saying 'fat, ugly girls are blaming me'

The MeToo movement in India is currently in full force and several Bollywood biggies have come under the line of fire for their sexual misconduct. After Nana Patekar, Alok Nath and Vikas Bahl, the latest celebrity to bite the dust is singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who has been accused by a former flight attendant of sexually harassing her in 1998.

The woman in question opened up about the incident in a social media post and revealed that Abhijeet had pulled her closer for refusing to dance or get intimate with him during a pub outing in Kolkata. She further added that he almost kissed and nibbled on his left ear after misbehaving with her.

However Abhijeet, who has earlier been accused by several women, completely dismissed the recent allegations by saying that he was not even born 20 years ago. During an interview with a leading daily, the singer claimed that he has never gone to a pub in his life and said, "Somebody told me over the call. I was not born at that time. I have never gone to pubs in my life. You’ll never find me at any page 3 or filmy parties. My name sells. If someone’s benefiting from it, good. Sometimes earning their bread and butter with my name, it’s fine."

He further went on to mention that it were fat and ugly girls who were blaming him and stated, "Most of the people who are coming out right now are dirty, ugly people. Koi mota hai koi patla hai. No one deserves (the attention). Just to grab some attention they are coming out. Most of the fat and ugly girls are blaming and I wasn’t born at that time."

Abhijeet concluded by saying that he doesn't know against whom should he take action as he does not want to give publicity to anyone.
