Kalank: Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt to head to Kargil for a week-long schedule?

Karan Johar announced his upcoming film, a multi-starrer Kalankin April this year. With an ensemble cast including Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the film is being helmed by Abhishek Verman. Although the film kicked off in May on a set in Mumbai, we now hear that Varun and Alia will be heading to Kargil for a week to shoot the period drama.

As per a report in a leading daily, the actors will shoot for some pivotal scenes besides shooting for a song sequence in the picturesque valley. A source from the sets revealed to the daily, "Varun who returned to the city on Thursday night after filming a cameo with Salman Khan for Bharat in Abu Dhabi, has already begun to prep up for the upcoming schedule of Kalank." Apparently, Varun and Alia will fly out of Mumbai on Sunday.

Moreover, it is learnt that the two actors will shoot in another outdoor schedule in Central India after they wrap up the Kargil schedule. With the location currently being finalised by Abhishek, it is expected that Madhuri, Sanjay and Aditya will join Varun and Alia there. The team is reportedly aiming to wrap up the film by November-end.

For the unversed, Kalank grabbed a lot of headlines lately for bringing together Sanjay and Madhuri after a hiatus of 21 years. Set against the backdrop of partition of India, Kalank marks the first collaboration between three big production houses Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Fox Star Studios. The film is slated for release on April 18, 2019.
