Disha Patani signed Bharat irrespective of her part in it, reveals Ali Abbas Zafar

Salman Khan’s upcoming film Bharat casts Katrina Kaif opposite the actor but ever since makers announced that Disha Patani had signed the project as well, several quarters speculated whether the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film is a two-heroine project. Ali, however, addressed the query while speaking to a leading daily but didn’t answer it directly.

On the other hand, Ali said that Disha agreed to sign Bharat irrespective of her screen time in it. The director, actually, intended to make the film with several special characters and Disha, thus, complied because she loved the plotline of the film.

"The film tracks the journey of a man and a nation, simultaneously. The story spans over 65 years, and every role in the film is important. The idea is to make a movie with many special characters. I narrated the entire story to Disha before I signed her on. She said that she will do the film irrespective of her part in it because it is a beautiful story. She also added that the film is more important than anybody’s role,” Ali told the daily.

In June, Disha, while addressing the press, had expressed her gratitude for being offered a role in Bharat. "I feel lucky to be a part of Bharat. I think it's a blessing of God and the love and support of my family and followers that I am getting to do some good and interesting work. Eventually, everything depends on your hard work. So, if you work hard, then everything will be fine in your life," Disha had said.

Disha made her debut in the Hindi film industry with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in 2016 and subsequently appeared in Kung Fu Yoga and Baaghi 2.

Bharat, meanwhile, is an official adaptation of 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. It is scheduled to release on Eid 2019.
