Batti Gul Meter Chalu song Har Har Gange: Shahid Kapoor gears up for his fight against the system

After songs like Gold Tamba, Dekhte Dekhte and Hard Hard, the makers of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film Batti Gul Meter Chalu have come out with an intense track titled Har Har Gange. Sung by Arijit Singh, the song is composed by Sachet-Parampara and penned by Siddharth-Garima.

The two-and-a-half minute long track is melodious and begins with Shahid grieving over the death of his childhood friend (played by Divyendu Sharma), who commits suicide after failing to pay a huge sum of an electricity bill. The song follows how his friend's untimely demise triggers Shahid's character to fight against the system and deal with the issue of power theft in the area. The song also features Shraddha Kapoor's character, who ridicules Shahid for not standing up for his friend. How he moves to the court later in order to take revenge from the corrupt electricity companies, forms the crux of the song.

The stunning glimpses of the river Ganga and the powerful aarti at the ghats serve as the perfect backdrop for the song. From reminiscing about the good times with his friend to taking a dip in the Ganga, Har Har Gange is beautifully picturized on Shahid. Director Shree Narayan Singh has done a superb job of depicting how Shraddha’s and Shahid's demeanor has changed after the life-altering experience.
