The Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy that has Shahid Kapoor in the lead has been in the news ever since its director Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced its remake. The film which will once again be helmed by Sandeep gave rise to a lot of speculations about its leading cast. After, several rumours and many names Shahid was zeroed down as the actor to play the main lead. However, Student of the Year 2 actress Tara Sutaria was supposed to star in the remake. However, now a leading daily reported that the actress who is making her debut with SOTY2 is no longer a part of the film anymore.
The leading daily reported that when Tara came on board the film it was agreed upon that it would be her second release after Student of the Year 2 that also stars Tiger Shroff and Ananya Panday. But things took a turn when SOTY2 was postponed for six months and is now supposed to release in May 2019 instead of November 2018.
Since the release date of Punit Malhotra directed Student of the Year 2 has been postponed it meant that the Arjun Reddy remake would have to release not earlier than June-July 2019, which put the filmmakers in a jeopardy. A source told the daily, “Eventually, the makers of the film and Tara’s managers amicably decided to part ways because of the delay caused. It is for this reason that the makers of the Arjun Reddy remake decided to let go of Tara and look for another actress. They have finalized a couple of options and will be announcing the name in the next few days.”
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Shahid became a proud father once again last night to a baby boy. He is also looking forward to the release of his social-drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu that also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam, and Divyendu Sharma. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh the film is slated for a September 21, 2018, release.
