He’s like my friend: Anil Kapoor on his relationship with son-in-law Anand Ahuja

For Anil Kapoor, his son-in-law, entrepreneur Anand Ahuja is more like a friend, whom the actor can easily relate to. No, seriously. This is true. Anand is married to Anil’s daughter, actress Sonam Kapoor. Although Anil has rarely spoken about Anand so far, in an interview with a leading daily, he discussed his relationship with his son-in-law and said a whole lot of good things about him.

Anil and Anand engage in deep conversations on various subjects including health and fitness. Considering the fact that Anand has travelled far and wide, the senior actor often talks to his son-in-law about things as such and much more.

"He’s not my son-in-law. He’s like my son... I’d say, friend. We bond over health, fitness and loving our parents and family. He’s very work-oriented, so we talk about that. Of course, there are things that I learned from him since he has travelled so much, has studied in one of the best universities,” Anil told the daily about Anand.

Health, in fact, appears to be a common topic of discussion among them as the 61-year-old actor added: "He’s young and comes up with great, fresh ideas where health is concerned. He has a lot of depth and is very spiritual. It’s a combination of so many things we relate and connect to.”

Sonam and Anand, reported to be dating since 2016, married in a private ceremony in Mumbai on May 8 in the presence of close friends and family. After the wedding, the couple hosted a grand reception party at a five-star banquet for their friends and colleagues from the film industry. A-list celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Rani Mukerji, attended Sonam’s reception.

Workwise, Sonam, last seen in Veere Di Wedding, will feature next in The Zoya Factor and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, co-starring Anil Kapoor.
