After Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut asks for profit sharing in Mental Hai Kya?

Male superstars have been getting a share in film’s profit for a long time now but the same cannot be said for the female stars. However, things are changing a little thanks to the powerhouse performers in the form of Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut. Priyanka is said to have demanded a share of the pie from her Shonali Bose’s film – tentatively titled The Sky is Pink which she is co-producing along with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Now, we hear that Kangana has also got into a profit-sharing deal with the makers of her film Mental Hai Kya.

As reported by a leading daily, the Queen actress has taken this step with her forthcoming film Mental Hai Kya which also stars Rajkummar Rao and will henceforth ask for profit in all her films. The leading daily reported, “Kangana has got into a profit-sharing deal with the makers of her next film, Mental Hai Kya (MHK). The National Award winner is known to take a keen interest in different aspects of the projects she is associated with. Also, she has always championed equal rights for heroines, and with this, she will set an example. Apparently, Kangana will henceforth ask for a share of profit in all her films.”

Mental Hai Kya is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh and they have reportedly agreed to the actress’ terms. A member of the production team told the daily, “When she brought this up with the producers, they were open to the idea. Kangana has established herself as a brand today and has shouldered a few films on her own. So, they felt that she deserves what she is asking for.”

Kangana has proved her mettle with her acting prowess and is now in the envious position of demanding and getting what she wants. The National Award winner along with friend and co-star Priyanka is making Bollywood an equal and deserving place for actresses too, and we are happy that they are forging the way ahead for others as well.
