My family advised me not to do another remake after Dhadak: Janhvi Kapoor

The much anticipated Hindi adaptation of Marathi film Sairat, Dhadak released last Friday and is all set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark in its first week of release. Starring debutante Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, the film has got immense love and appreciation from the actors’ fans and the Bollywood fraternity. Today, the Dhadak team came together for a success meet with the media where right from director Shashank Khaitan to producer Karan Johar spoke about the film, revealing fun details.

During the success meet, Janhvi revealed some interesting details about her family’s and friend’s reactions post-Dhadak. When she was asked what was the one thing that her family asked her not to do after watching Dhadak, the actress laughingly said, “My family advised me to not do another remake after this.” Janhvi is seen essaying the role of Archi played by Rinku Rajguru in the original film Sairat.

Janhvi’s family comprising of father Boney Kapoor, sister Khushi Kapoor, half-siblings Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor have been lending their support to the actress leading to the release of the film. During the trailer launch of the film, Uncle Sanjay Kapoor with wife Maheep and daughter Shanaya were also present with the rest of the Kapoor clan.

Janhvi became an instant celebrity even before her first film hit the theatres, thanks to her parents – Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Following the untimely and sudden demise of veteran actor Sridevi in February, this year put the young actress in the spotlight, not much to her liking. However, the grief did not bog her down but instead, the actress kept a dignified silence over her grief and handled every scrutiny and every query with politeness, courtesy, and respect. With the film doing thundering business at the box office, Janhvi has proved her mettle and is all set to have a long run in the film industry.
