The NTR biopic has created just the right amount of buzz ever since the news of its inception came out. The film features Nandamuri Balakrishna as the superstar and Vidya Balan in the role of the actor's wife, Basavatarakama. It aims to trail the life of probably one of the most successful and popular stars of the South Indian film industry.
While several other actors have also been roped in to play different characters in the film, the name of Rakul Preet Singh is the latest one being surfaced. The actress is rumoured to play the character of late actress Sridevi in the film. The two had worked together in more than 15 Telugu films and created a hit on-screen pair.
A leading entertainment portal has reported that Rakul, who was last seen in Hindi film, Aiyaari, has given her nod to star in the much anticipated biopic. The report also quotes a source saying, "Rakul was approached for the role and the actress was elated to be part of the project. However, the date clash could be a problem. But things are still in the nascent stage and it’s premature to comment".
The actress is a popular name down South. Her next Hindi film has her featured opposite Ajay Devgn in Luv Ranjan's next, titled De De Pyar De.
Official confirmation from her on the NTR biopic is awaited.
