In a rather cryptic tweet, Akshay requested his followers to excuse his typo errors because of some unknown reason, which no one could really gather. His tweet read as, "Excuse my typossss kyusjiii mujhkkkko..."

Gold also features Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles. The film has been majorly shot in the UK’s Yorkshire, Bradford, Doncaster, Rotherham and then Punjab, Amritsar and Patiala. The film is helmed by director Reema Kagti, who has previously directed Talaash and co-written Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bombay Talkies, Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy amongst others. The film is slated to release on August 15 this year and will clash with John Abraham's Satyamev Jayate on the box-office.
