After Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani to direct Ranbir Kapoor in five more films? Here's the truth

Ever since the release of Munnabhai MBBS, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is touted as one of the finest directors in the country, with every leading actor vouching for a role in his films. His last release Sanju has audiences and critics are going gaga over his magnificent portrayal of actor Sanjay Dutt's life in the biopic.

Now with Hirani's consolidated position in the film industry with his fabulous films, it seems the Sanju's leading man Ranbir Kapoor wants to work with the ace director again and again. As per a leading daily, Ranbir expressed his desire during the film promotions of Sanju. The idea seems justifiable as once an actor finds his successful pairing with a director, his interest to encash on that equation is understandable.

“Ranbir told Raju that so far he’s made two movies each with Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan and all of them became huge hits. So he wanted to know when would the filmmaker do his second film with him as the leading man, discounting his cameo in PK. He also asked how many movies would Raju make with him,” a source informed the daily, adding, “The filmmaker smiled and replied, ‘I’ll do five movies with you’.”

During Sanju promotions, Ranbir also desired to wish with Hirani in 3 Idiots second part.

Known to chalk out magnificent scripts, it won't be surprising that Hirani will take his own sweet time to start his next film and rather bask in the glory of Sanju currently. So when will Ranbir and Hirani get back together to carve magic onscreen, is still left to be seen!

Sanju, meanwhile, is busy raking in moolah at the box office. The money spinner had amassed Rs 120.06 crore in its opening weekend itself and has also dethroned SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali to bag the highest single day collection for a Hindi film. Moreover, the film has given major career boost to Ranbir as well whose past few films could not create any magic at the box office.

Interestingly, Ranbir was super impressed with both Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Basu post Rockstar and Barfi success, however, when Tamasha and Jagga Jasoos by the respective directors tanked at the box office, RK's pairing with them came to a halt.

What will be the scenario with Hirani and Ranbir, time will tell.
