Aamir Khan starts look-test for Shakun Batra's Rajneesh Osho biopic?

It is not unknown that Aamir Khan has a great sense of choosing scripts that render him both box-office success as well as critical acclaim. With biopics being the new fad in Bollywood, recent reports suggest that the actor has shown a keen interest in playing the lead in a movie based on the life of spiritual guru Bhagwan Rajneesh, also known as Osho. The film, penned by Shakun Batra, will apparently be made for an international streaming channel as a web series.

Now given the perfectionist streak in Aamir, he has reportedly started doing his homework before saying yes to Shakun's film. As per a report in a leading tabloid, Aamir has started meeting prosthetic experts to get a clarification on the transformation he will have to undergo to slip into Osho's character.

A source revealed to the tabloid, "Though he has liked the script, Aamir wants to be completely sure before he signs on the dotted line. He has been meeting prosthetic experts to understand whether he will be able to look the part of Osho. He will also be required to sport a semi-bald pate for a portion in the film."

Reportedly, the actor will don several looks in the film. "Aamir will sport four different looks in the drama, which will begin with Osho's rise as a spiritual guru in India to his setting up base in the US," shared the source. A few months back, Netflix original series, Wild Wild Country, piqued curiosity among cinephiles about Osho. And Mr. Perfectionist is keen that they (the makers) remain authentic to the subject.

Interestingly, it was also touted that Alia Bhatt will reprise the role of Ma Anand Sheela, Osho's closest aide, in the film. Well, there's so official announcement yet but we cannot wait to witness Aamir and Alia carve their magic on the silver screen.

Twenty-eight years after his death, the Osho Ashram in Pune continues to attract followers from the world over.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir is currently busy shooting for Thugs of Hindostan. Earlier when the reports of Osho biopic were doing the rounds, Aamir's spokesperson had then clarified that the actor's focus is only on Thugs...and he will lock his next project only after the film's release.
