Now that Sanju is done, Ranbir Kapoor has more to share about Shamshera

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently basking in the success of his latest release, Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The actor was long waiting for a hit at the Box Office and the biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt just served him good.

Ranbir is now focusing on his next, Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by his buddy, Ayan Mukerji, the movie is a fantasy adventure and also features Mouni Roy in a pivotal role. The actor then has to start working on YRF's next, which is a period drama, titled Shamshera.

The actor is being featured in the film with Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. Now that Sanju is over, Ranbir has started talking about both Brahmastra and Shamshera. While a lot of information is already out about the former, not much is known about the latter, except that it's going be a big YRF action entertainer.

However, Ranbir just gave away more details about Shamshera than is already known. In an interview to a leading daily, the actor revealed that the film is set back in 1800s and is about a dacoit tribe. He said, "It’s definitely a very aggressive, intense and angry character. It is set in the 1800s and it’s about a dacoit tribe who is fighting for their rights and independence."

Ranbir also talked about working with director Karan Malhotra for the first time. He said, "It is an exciting space and Sanjay is playing an antagonist. Also, it is a new collaboration for me with Karan Malhotra. I am really looking forward to starting this project".

The actor has also got another film in his kitty. He is working with actor Ajay Devgn in filmmaker Luv Ranjan's next. The movie which is yet to be titled is a romantic drama and something that Ranbir says the audience has never seen before.
