Ranbir Kapoor's relationship with father Rishi Kapoor may have been cordial but the two have immense respect for each other. And with son, Ranbir's iconic portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in Sanju biopic, his father has only grown to become one of his many admirers.
The film which has broken all box office records for 2018 already and also receiving critical acclaims also had proud parents lauding their son on social media.
“I am flying and aircraft flying at 40,000 ft.Emirates flight EK702 Mauritius to Dubai now in real time. Cheers Ranbir! You don’t know how proud your parents are. Thank you and God Bless you. Aur bhi achcha kaam karo!,” he posted on Twitter with a happy selfie aboard a flight. He can be seen holding up a drink. A celebratory one, we presume?

Recently, a video of Rishi recorded by Rajkumar Hirani reacting to Sanju's trailer had gone viral all over the Internet where the father couldn't believe he was watching his son Ranbir and not Sanjay Dutt.
In an interview recently, Rishi confirmed the same. “The way Rajkumar Hirani has presented Ranbir is the biggest superb thing, the boy has really done well. I am so proud of him. I swear on (wife) Neetu and Ranbir, I did not think it was Ranbir, I thought it was Sanjay Dutt,” said senior Kapoor.
At a recent media interaction, the actor responded to his father's remarks and said that he felt very emotional when he heard about his father’s reaction to his film. He said, “Besides being my father, he is also an actor I really admire and respect… He never tells me to my face that I’ve done good work, not that I expect it either. But when you hear such words coming from him, it is incredible, it really moved me, made me emotional.”
