Saqib Saleem to play villain in Salman Khan's Dabangg 3?

Salman Khan is a true-blue godfather in the film industry for struggling actors and star kids waiting to find a launch pad. Salman has successfully renewed as well as launched the careers of many star kids. Sonakshi Sinha, Athiya Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi have been launched by the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor. After taking Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and many others under his wing he has now shifted his gaze towards Saqib Saleem. If reports are to be believed then Saqib will once again share screen space with Salman in Dabangg 3 after featuring with him in Race 3.

As reported by a leading daily Salman is keen to get Saqib on board to play the antagonist in his film Dabangg 3. However, the casting of the film is still underway and, no official confirmation has come out yet. Apart from Saqib, actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Ashwami Manjrekar is also reported to be making her Bollywood debut with this film. Previously, it was rumoured that popular TV actress Mouni Roy will also star in the film, but the actress who is making her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold refuted all such rumours.

Salman plays the role of Chulbul Pandey in the Dabangg film franchise, a character created by Abhinav Kashyap in the first film. The second installment of the film was directed by Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan. Sonakshi Sinha plays the love interest and wife of Salman in the film and is all set to reprise her role in the third part as well.

The Dabangg series is also notable because of the significant parts played by the negative characters in the film. Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj who played the antagonists in the first and second parts respectively had meaty roles in the film, despite having Salman at the forefront. Now, it will be highly interesting to see Saqib as an outright negative character in the film. Hopefully, he will be able to live up to the benchmarks set by his predecessors.
