Kangana Ranaut to star in Anurag Basu's Life in a Metro Sequel?

Ace actor Kangana Ranaut started her Bollywood journey with director Anurag Basu’s Gangster opposite Shiney Ahuja and Emraan Hashmi. She later went on to do a lot of films with the director like Woh Lamhe, Life in a Metro and Kites. Now, that news are coming in that the director is planning to make a sequel to his critically acclaimed film Life in a Metro, the industry is abuzz with the anticipation that Anurag will approach Kangana for the film.

However, when Kangana had done the film she was relatively a young and small actress but now she is a much bigger star who takes up projects only if she has a meaty role. Keeping in mind that Life in a Metro had an ensemble cast with no actor getting too much of screen space it remains to be seen how the Barfi director ropes in Kangana.

A trade source revealed to a leading daily, “Kangana was an integral part of Life In A Metro. Irrfan Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kay Kay Menon all had good roles in the film. It is but obvious that one would want to see some of these actors in the sequel. However, Kangana is doing extremely well now with author-backed roles, and Life In a Metro is about a lot of characters. So, she will really need a great script and a lot of convincing to be on board Anurag’s film again.”

On the work front, Kangana is busy shooting for her film Mental Hai Kya opposite Rajkummar Rao and will also be starting her prep to play a Kabaddi player in her next film in August. She has kept a 15-day period to start her prep for the role. She will be learning different kinds of holds and kicks for her role in the film. The film is directed by Bareilly Ki Barfi director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. Kangana also has Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi up for release.
