Janhvi Kapoor is the latest member of the Boney Kapoor-Anil Kapoor family to make her mark in Bollywood. On Monday, her debut film Dhadak’s trailer was released which was well received by the audience. The young debutante was well supported by her entire family in the absence of her mother Sridevi who died earlier this year. The trailer launch was attended by Janhvi’s uncle Sanjay Kapoor and his entire family including wife Maheep Kapoor, son Jahaan and daughter Shanaya Kapoor. Shanaya made a lot of heads turn when she turned up wearing flared jeans and a floral top.
Sanjay, who is riding high with his latest offering Lust Stories was asked about his daughter Shanaya making her debut in Bollywood, the actor said, “Shanaya has just finished her 12th standard and she is really young. She is working towards her entry but when will that happen I really don’t know. However, she hasn’t signed anything yet but will hopefully sign something soon.”

Shanaya is pretty popular on social media and is constantly in the spotlight thanks to her starry family. Her pictures from cousin Sonam Kapoor’s wedding got a lot of attention on social media with people commenting on her fresh looks to her choice of looks. When asked whether Sanjay has advised her on how to handle such media attention, he said, “I do feel protective about her. Her account on Instagram is private, but few things are beyond our control. Shanaya is a young girl who will go out for movies or to restaurants. We’re not going to lock her up in the house just because a photograph will get clicked.”
Although, Sanjay is not bothered about social media trolls. He said, “We have told Shanaya not to take praises or criticism seriously, just keep working hard and be focused. However, she has been quite fortunate as she generally gets good comments from people. “
