Her pictures from cousin Sonam Kapoor’s wedding got a lot of attention on social media with people commenting on her fresh looks to her choice of looks. When asked whether Sanjay has advised her on how to handle such media attention, he said, “I do feel protective about her. Her account on Instagram is private, but few things are beyond our control. Shanaya is a young girl who will go out for movies or to restaurants. We’re not going to lock her up in the house just because a photograph will get clicked.”

Although, Sanjay is not bothered about social media trolls. He said, “We have told Shanaya not to take praises or criticism seriously, just keep working hard and be focused. However, she has been quite fortunate as she generally gets good comments from people. “
