Sanju Poster: Manisha Koirala bears an uncanny resemblance to late Nargis Dutt

Bulls Eye! Rajkumar Hirani is out with the much-awaited poster of Manisha Koirala as Ranbir Kapoor’s mother in the Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju. This time they have surely hit the bullseyes. Ranbir has continually surprised us with his perfect resemblance with the superstar Dutt himself. But Manisha is here to level up the game. In the poster, she looks nothing like the Manisha that we have known over the years. It is just a poster, but we’re convinced that nobody could have fit the bill better.

Sharing the poster, the filmmaker mirrored our thoughts with his words. He wrote, “She lovingly called him Sanju, and now that's what we all do too! Watch the ever so wonderful Manisha Koirala as Nargis ji on 29th June.”

The film is based on superstar Sanjay Dutt’s roller coaster ride life. The makers have stated that the film is an unfiltered biopic. Ranbir playing the titular role has already dropped our jaws open with his uncanny resemblance as Sanjay. So far the posters have presented the many high and low phases in Dutt’s life.

The trailer of Sanju showcases the real-life journey of Dutt starting from his debut film Rocky, to all his happy highs, his romantic rendezvous, his plunge into the abyss, and his final vindication. And, in a word, it is overwhelming! To hell and back… That’s the stranger-than-fiction story of Sanjay Dutt that has been so graphically captured in the trailer of this biopic. Kudos, Rajkumar Hirani, Ranbir Kapoor and the man himself Sanjay Dutt – for telling this story the way it needed to be told.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film features Ranbir Kapoor along with Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, Karishma Tanna and Dia Mirza amongst many others. While the trailer comes out tomorrow the film will release on June 29, 2018.
