Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali after releasing the first look of his upcoming film Laila Majnu has now released the first teaser on his Instagram account. The first teaser of the film was released today and we must say, even though the star cast has been kept under wraps the film is shot in beautiful locales and does pique's the audience's interest. The film Laila Majnu is a new take on the legendary love story by Imtiaz and written and directed by Sajid Ali.

Laila Majnu is the modern day re-telling of the iconic love story of Laila-Majnu. The classic folklore is probably the most well-known love story in the Indian traditional stories and numerous screen adaptations have already been made on it. Sharing the first teaser on Instgram, Imtiaz wrote, “‘Pyaar mein pagal...’ We often wonder what it is to become crazy in love. Laila Majnu is exactly that. A new take on the legendary love story by me and film written and directed by #SajidAli, here’s presenting the #LailaMajnuTeaser. Releasing on 24th August 2018.”

Some love stories definitely do not die, they are retold, re-imagined and re-created and Laila-Majnu is one such tale. The poignant love story might have a sad ending but it never fails to tug at your heartstrings and knowing Imtiaz who has reinvented the way we look at love stories and romance his film Laila Majnu will definitely spring some surprise. The film is directed by Sajid Ali and is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Pi Films and presented by Imtiaz. It is slated for an August 24, 2018 release.

In a press statement, Imtiaz had said, “Laila Majnu is an eternal story of everlasting love. It’s perhaps the most popular love story of all times. For the film we wanted a fresh approach in all aspects -- a fresh cast, a fresh script and a fresh setting. We had a great experience making the film and can’t wait to showcase it to the world.”

The film’s star cast has not been revealed yet and even in the first teaser no close-up shots of the two protagonists can be seen. Hopefully, some new information about the lead actors will shared soon. However, the film is shot in beautiful locales and gives the film a breathtakingly beautiful look.
