Committed daddy Shahid will take a month off when his second child arrives

If we are doling out crowns for Most Supportive Husband, Shahid Kapoor will be top of the list. The actor is carefully managing his film schedules to accommodate a month-long break in September, which is when wife Mira delivers their second child. Incidentally, he had done the same even at the time of his firstborn Misha’s birth. Thoughtful or what?!

Right now he is shooting in Uttarakhand for his upcoming Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Shooting for this Shree Narayan Singh directorial had taken a hit due to payment issues on the part of producers KriArj. Now the film is back on track and shooting has resumed in Tehri and Dehradun. Due to the delay, the makers had apparently requested additional dates from Shahid and he has allocated the same. Filming is set to continue till mid-June, post which the cast and crew will return to Mumbai to wrap shooting.

Coming up next for Shahid – besides his new baby! – is the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, Arjun Reddy. After wrapping up Batti… he will grow out his beard and hair to prep for this actioner which begins shooting towards the end of July. Come September however, he will be taking a month’s break to be with Mira when their baby arrives. This will be time devoted totally to his little family, as he plays supportive husband and helpful dad. A month later, he will resume the shoot of Arjun Reddy.

Shahid had taken to his Instagram to announce the impending arrival of his second baby with a cute post. His first baby girl Misha was seen posing beside a cute graffiti of balloons announcing that she will now become a big sister to her daddy and mommy’s second born. He had shared, “I am very happy. We just felt like sharing it with everybody. Mira said she wanted to put it on Instagram, and I felt the photograph was really cute. So, it was a spontaneous decision and it just happened,” an elated Shahid said on arrival of their second child.
