Katrina at Madam Tussauds: Fans don’t wax eloquent!

The virtual world is not exactly going gaga over the new Katrina Kaif waxwork at Madam Tussauds, New York. You’d think the expert establishment would get it right considering they have already created her wax statues for their museums in London and New Delhi but nopes, the new one in New York proves they still have a long way to go.

The waxwork of the 34-year-old Bollywood actress has her dressed in a sequinned lehenga choli. She is also placed right next to the Hindi film screen icon, Amitabh Bachchan.

However, she is not exactly garnering the reactions that Madam Tussauds would have hoped for. The lips and nose of her wax likeness have come in for criticism, with many users pointing out that the real Katrina Kaif is far more beautiful. Duh! A waxwork can’t hope to compare with Mother Nature!

Back in 2015 Kat had become the latest star from Bollywood to get a highly coveted spot at the Bollywood line-up at Madame Tussauds in London. She had unveiled the wax statue and joined the new Bollywood setting as part of the popular wax-work museum's '15 years of Bollywood' celebration.

On coming face-to-face with her wax model, Katrina had said, "This is amazing it does look really like me." Wonder if she will pay the same compliment to herself this time around!

Incidentally, just as we speak, Katrina is enjoying a fam jam in London, having completed shooting for Anand L Rai’s Zero. It’s a well-deserved break with her sisters, which comes after hectic shooting schedules. She has been filming for her Shah Rukh-starrer Zero in which she reportedly plays an actress struggling with alcoholism, as well as Thugs Of Hindostan, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Her recent mega hit with Salman Khan, Tiger Zinda Hai brought her a much-needed respite from a lacklustre spell at the box office. With things looking better than ever on the career front, her waxwork will draw in hordes of fans…hopefully!
