Shweta Bachchan Nanda turns author, first book titled 'Paradise Towers'

Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter is all set to turn author and write her first book for a leading publication which will be titled Paradise Towers. She has already wowed the audience with her articles on social issues, family and current affairs written for a leading newspaper and now she is taking the plunge in becoming a published author. The news of Shweta turning author comes on the heels of Katrina Kaif who is penning her own memoir called Barbie Dream.

Shweta has already started penning the novel and the book is scheduled to release later this year. Her articles in the newspapers were well-liked by the Indian audience which prompted a leading publishing house to sign her for a full-fledged novel. Even before the publication of her first book she has been approached with the idea of writing another one on her legendary father, actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Regarding the second book, a source said, “In fact, her first book will be a novel (being printed under the aegis of a leading publishing giant) and she’s already into the process of penning it.   The sophisticate has also been approached to write a second book which will be non-fiction dwelling on her legendary father — the epochal Amitabh Bachchan.”

Shweta is the eldest child of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and unlike her brother Abhishek Bachchan she never wanted to try her hand at acting. She had stated in an earlier interview, “I don't have what it takes. I've neither the face nor the voice. And besides I didn't have the temperament for it. I wouldn't be able to devote such a large chunk of my time to one thing. You know being an actress is a calling. And it wasn't my calling. My main calling in life is to be a mother. And if the TV show doesn't work out, I'd be very happy to go back to where I came from.”

Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda and has two children – daughter Navya Naveli and son Agastya. Shweta follows in the footsteps of Twinkle Khanna who turned author recently and published two books.
