Go, Ankita! Sushant’s ex-girlfriend looks stunning as Jhalkaribai. Check Out

Television’s darling Ankita who became a household name with Pavitra Rishta, is now transiting to the big screen, playing Jhalkaribai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. And she is acing the look as the brave and beautiful warrior, Jhalkaribai!

This Krish directorial features Kangana Ranaut essaying the famous queen. However, it also features Ankita in a substantial role. She will bring to life, Jhalkaribai, who started out as one of the lesser known warriors in Rani Lakshmibai’s army. However, soon Jhalkaribari rose to the position of a key advisor to the queen. In fact, at the height of the battle with the British, Jhalkari actually disguised herself as Rani Lakshmibai, to fool the enemy.

Ankita had earlier shared, “I’d never heard of her before, in fact, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our Indian history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Lakshmibai.”

The stunner had made the most of this big screen opportunity. She had discussed the look and character thoroughly with Krish. As part of her prep, she had also read up extensively online and referenced research material. Ankita had also especially learnt horse-riding as well as sword-fighting from Hollywood action director Nick Powell, for the film. Apparently, Ankita has finished shooting most of her portions for the film in Jodhpur, Bikaner and Mumbai. She has only a few days of work left, and will also shoot a song soon.

Ankita, who has undergone a glamorous transformation post her break-up, has studiously refused to discuss her painful split which came after six years of togetherness. Asked if she's still in touch with her ex-boyfriend Sushant, she declared, “I've always been open about my last relationship but even when I was in one, I didn't talk about my personal life, and I don't need to talk about it now. If it's my career, I can talk to you for hours, but not about this.”
