Early this year, we were smacking our lips at the thought of the hunky Madhavan and the hunkier Saif Ali Khan coming together for Navdeep Singh’s upcoming film. The two actors would be coming together 17 years after they did Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein.
Now, there has been a big change in plan… Madhavan has had to undergo a shoulder surgery as a result of a gym injury and will need to rest for two full months!
Naturally, this means he cannot shoot for the Navdeep Singh historical, which is set in Rajasthan. How sad is that?!

The actor confirmed the news saying, “I am injured badly and out of any film shoot for the next two months. Right now I’m just taking total rest.”
The film has action sequences galore, which require both actors to pull off horse-riding, sword-fighting and other rough-n-ready scenes. Even though Maddy, as his friends call him, had started taking lessons in horse-riding at Mumbai’s Amateur Riders Club, all his plans have been nipped in the bud. He would simply be unable to shoot, given his current state of recuperation.
Both Madhavan and Saif had been gung-ho about their upcoming film. Saif has already started shooting for the film in Desuri, Rajasthan. It will be followed by schedules in Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai as well.
Buzz had it that the actors would also have drastically different looks involving prosthetics for which the team is currently working on. The historical film also includes Deepak Dobriyal and Zoya Hussain of Mukkabaaz fame. Recently, Sonakshi Sinha also shot for the film, though the makers are keeping her role a top secret.
Last month, Saif had eyeballs popping as he sported a seriously whacky look during the filming of the film, which has been tentatively titled Kaaptan. The actor was togged up in dreadlocks, topped by a bandana. Pants tucked into his boots, a long beard, and a muffler around his neck, he looked like nothing we have seen before.
And just as we were waiting to see how Madhavan would match up, he won’t be in the game at all. Sigh…
