Lord have mercy, Anushka drops one more Pari screamer (7)

These screamers have been driving us insane! We have reached a stage where we would rather have the entire scarefest that Pari is threatening to be - and get it over with, than suffer the shivers every time Anushka Sharma decides to drop another teaser on us! March 2 come soon!!

Coming back to Screamer No.7, it shows a pregnant woman in the throes of labour, thrashing within a bathtub. And she isn’t in it by choice – you can’t miss the fact that she is chained to it. The shadow of a woman shows up on the wall. The contractions intensify and next we have glimpses of the foetus inside the womb. And no, it is not a pretty sight…

Anushka shared the teaser, writing "The devil arrives tomorrow."

The film has raised expectations of being a suspense thriller with more than a hint of the supernatural. Interestingly, even though all seven screamers have done their job of shaking up the viewer, we are still no wiser about what exactly the film is about. Reports have maintained that this Prosit Roy directorial is centred around the topic of abuse.

Speaking about Pari, her third film production, Anushka had revealed, “It’s an interesting way to show a film. Whatever intrigue is there for the film, is exactly what we are looking forward to…I am excited to take up a genre like this because I love watching it as a viewer, too.”

The actress-producer also shared the rather difficult-to-believe news that Pari is actually a love story! “If I tell you Pari is a love story, you will be surprised. But it is. It’s not something which you can define or confine to one genre. Horror’s always a treatment and atmospheric horror is just brilliant, which is what Pari is all about.”

Shedding light on her choice of the genre, she shared, “India watches a lot of horror and it’s an interesting space. Horror doesn’t always have to be about ghosts coming out of closets. It’s a theme. It’s the treatment and that’s what is exciting. This genre has not been explored too well in Bollywood, which is why I got into this. I want people to always expect the unconventional from me.”

That we absolutely do, Ms. Sharma!
