Nirav Modi Fraud Case Update: Priyanka seeks legal opinion, Sidharth's contract expired in 2017

While Nirav Modi is knee deep in troubles after state-run Punjab National Bank detected "fraudulent and unauthorised" transactions worth about Rs 11,360 crore at a branch in Mumbai, rumours were rife about Priyanka Chopra suing the jewellery czar for non-payment of dues.

Putting an end to this, Priyanka's spokesperson in a statement said, "There are speculative reports that Priyanka Chopra has sued Nirav Modi. This is not true. However, she is currently seeking legal opinion with respect to terminating her contract with the brand in light of allegations of financial fraud against Nirav Modi."

Priyanka who was appointed as the brand ambassador back in January 2017, cut ties with the luxury diamond jeweller after he failed to pay for the endorsement deals. The actress has shot several campaigns including one with Sidharth Malhotra. And while other rumours also claimed that Sidharth too is seeking legal options, the actor's publicist denied any such rumours saying that their contract expired last year, so there is no truth to such assumptions.
Before Priyanka and Sidharth, Lisa Hayden and supermodels Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Andreea Diaconu were also the faces of the brand. Hollywood actresses such as Kate Winslet and Dakota Johnson too have walked for the brand.

Modi was ranked 57 on the Forbes list of billionaires in 2017. He currently has two complaints filed before CBI by PNB.
