2018 could be the year for Akshay Kumar! Not only does the actor have the entire nation in ropes with the upcoming film 'PadMan' but now he's got the whole nation hooked with Reema Kagti's upcoming sports biopic 'Gold'.
The teaser came out today and has already been the talk of the town. 'Gold' is about India's first Olympic medal win as a free nation in the year 1948 at Games of the XIV Olympiad, London. Staying true to the genre of the film, the newly announced film is to release on Independence Day, 2018.
This will also see TV sensation Mouni Roy debut on the silver screen alongside Akshay. Also seen alongside Mouni will be Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal.

Akshay becomes the only actor in the industry to have completed three films for 2018. Count them: there’s R. Balki’s social drama Padman that’s releasing in January; S. Shankar’s sci-fi adventure 2.0 with Rajnikanth in April; and, Gold which is slated for release in August. With them, Akshay is now sorted out for the next year. The actor can take a six-month vacation. He’s ahead of the game.
