Now Kangana says she’ll marry by Feb 2019!

Show-stopper Kangana Ranaut could have been a stunning bride in her cream voluminous gown with sparkling bustier, and dupatta attached to her bun which doubled as a train. Perhaps it was this nuptial suggestion that reminded mediapersons at the Shyamal-Bhumika showing at LFW, about the promise she had made to marry in 2017! Whatever happened to that vow??  Ms Ranaut took it with her customary casualness, quipping, “Hopefully, very soon.” And then she added, “Give me a deadline till next February.”

We love Kangy but no, we are not holding our breath waiting for her to walk down the aisle within this stipulated time. She’s a cool one, our lass from the hills, and is absolutely at ease changing her mind at whim.

Last year she had sounded awfully sincere, declaring, “I want to get married this year and hopefully, it should happen. When you are younger, you have different priorities. Marriage is a kind of burden, you can't travel on your own, can't think on your own. I can go to parties with my sister, I can date people for some time, have relationships. But then people start drifting away from your lives. My brother has got married, my sister will have a baby soon. You feel like you can't have a set of frivolous friends coming over on weekends when your family is busy with their own families. You want the same for yourself.”

Turns out, she didn’t want it that badly after all, tee hee.

Incidentally, her views on marriage itself keep changing! Earlier she was known to make all sorts of Bohemian noises about being free and unfettered. “I don’t believe in marriage. In fact, I am strictly against marriage. We are all born free and we should set each other free.”

Since then, she has also maintained that marriage is ‘an individual choice’. “It should not be forced upon due to society, as future of both the parties is spoiled. So one should get married when one feels like and not due to social pressure.”

And we surely don’t believe she really feels like it yet!
