The genes are apparently asserting themselves already! Mira Rajput has shared an adorable pic of little Misha, dressed in a kurta and churidar, apparently having her Kathak dance class! The little tot looks on entranced as the dance teacher whirls gracefully. Mira captioned the photo, “Guru Shishya Parampara”.

With Misha a little more than a year old, she sure is starting young – not that dance requires one to be a certain age! And with daddy ‘Smooth Moves’ Shahid around, does she have a choice! On World Dance Day, the actor had taken to Instagram to post the cutest possible video of the then eight-month-old Misha matching steps with her father, bopping along in her harness. He had captioned it, “#worlddanceday #havefeetwilldance #mj dance is in your blood.”

Shahid’s own fascination with dance goes back a long way. In an old interview, he had revealed, “It's an obsession since childhood! My mom (Neelima Azeem) is a trained classical dancer, and I used to spend hours watching her practice. In school, I was a great fan of Michael Jackson and would keep trying to copy his moves in front of the mirror. Then MJ came to perform in Mumbai—and I remember saving my pocket money for months so I could afford to buy the ticket. That performance had a major impact on me, and I later joined Shiamak Davar's dance classes. Within weeks, Shiamak spotted me and I was promoted to the advanced batch. Soon after, he offered me a spot with his troupe, and from then on life was one big party— I was making money, going all over the country in a huge group, and doing what I loved. Those were great days!”
Shahid’s half-brother Ishaan Khattar, who makes his debut opposite Jhanvi Kapoor in Dharma Productions’ remake of Sairat – Dhadak, is also a fabulous dancer. Shahid himself proudly stated once on the celebrity dance show, ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa Reloaded’ that Ishaan often dances to his (Shahid’s) songs and that he is a better dancer than him.
…Which is why we really aren’t surprised that the one-year-old Misha is already picking up the moves of classical dance. The genes always shine through!
