Did Anil and Sonam Kapoor not go to IFFI because Harshvardhan wasn’t invited?

The 48th International Film Festival of India has come to an end and Goa, which hosted the event for nine days, is slowly coming back to normal now that the razzmatazz of Bollywood has left its placid shores. The festival had its moments. And it's controversies. All of which everybody thought was over. But another one has raised its head in Mumbai. People are saying that Anil Kapoor and daughter Sonam skipped the IFFI because they were miffed.

The story goes that the IFFI organizers, who managed to get Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Sridevi, Shahid Kapoor and many others to Goa, had also invited Anil and Sonam to grace a session at the event. But the Kapoor father-daughter duo gave the prestigious event a miss because of Harshvardhan Kapoor. It is said that Anil agreed to come to Goa on the condition that his son Harshvardhan also be included in the invite. Sonam seconded her father. But this was not a condition the organizers agreed to. And this is allegedly supposed to have angered both, Anil and Sonam. So they decided not to attend the IFFI 2017.

Harshvardhan made his Bollywood debut last year with Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra’s Mirzyaa which failed at the box-office. If sources are to be believed, many people haven’t forgotten that and hence Harshvardhan finds himself excluded from many outings. In that light, an attempt made by his family to include him in events doesn’t come as a surprise, that’s what families do for each other after all.

While Sonam and Anil are busy with Veere Di Wedding and Fanny Khan respectively which will both release next year, Harshvardhan wrapped up shooting for his second film Bhavesh Joshi that’s directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The 25-year-old actor plays a Gujarati boy with special powers in the film which is reportedly high on action.
