All that went down at IFFI 2017 Closing Ceremony!

The IFFI 2017 closing ceremony saw a night of prestige, notability, exuberance and film art. The festival was hosted by Sonali Bendre, Karan Johar and Zaira Wasim.

While Parvathy Thiruvothu Kottuvata won the Best Female Actor award for her performance in the film Take Off, Nahuel Perez Biscayart won the Best Male Actor award for his role in 120 Beats Per Minute.

Kiro Russo bagged the Best Debut Feature Film (Director) award for Dark Soul and the Best Director award went to Vivian Qu for Angels Wear White. It was film 120 Beats Per Minute that went on to win the Best Film Award.

Katrina Kaif and Union Minister Smriti Irani presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan who directed movies such as The Sweet Hereafter, The Captive, Exotica, and Ararat.

The Indian Personality of the Year was awarded to none other than the Shahenshah of Bollywood, i.e., Amitabh Bachchan who Akshay Kumar paid his tribute to. He called the veteran actor "father of our industry" and recalled the old comic book Supremo that was based on him. Irani who presented the award to Bachchan sir commemorated his contribution to the industry by recalling his early days. She shared how the Sholay actor went for an audition to AIR and got rejected but is now receiving an award from the same ministry.

Siddharth Malhotra paid a dance tribute to the iconic actor's old songs.

IFFI 2017, that's being hosted in Goa, holds a significant spot for Big B in his heart, which he shared in his acceptance speech, as his first film was shot in that city. His first fan he recollected, Zarine Fernandes was also from Goa.

IFFI (International Film Festival of India) is a festival that provides a platform for cinemas from around the world to showcase their film art, contribute to the film culture of different nations and regions while exploring the social and cultural ethos. The 48th IFFI was held in Goa from November 20 to November 28, 2017.
