Escape to the hills… How Kangana escaped B-town cliques this Diwali

We haven’t seen Kangana Ranaut look this happy in a while! The actress, casually glammed up in a black dress teamed with orange trench-coat, black pointy pumps, wore her sunniest smile as she arrived in the city, and even waved happily at the photog posse present!

The Diwali break in her hometown Manali has surely done her good after all the public tumult of the recent past. Going by the charming photos shared, the actress enjoyed the simple and meaningful rituals of home at Diwali. Dressed in red, she was seen joining her mother and sister in creating pretty flower rangolis and lighting lamps outside her parents’ home. The pic in which she and sister Rangoli flash happy smiles and share a close moment, is especially heart-warming… It was perhaps the wisest decision to leave B-town with all its cliques and private parties and flee to the hills of her hometown this Diwali…

Next month onwards, Kangana could be making a lot more visits to the hills – her very own home in the hills is close to completion. The eight-bedroom house is spread across three levels, with the staff quarters on the lower ground, the entertainment zone occupying the ground floor and Kangana’s private space on the first floor. Built to blend in with the Himachal landscape, the house is grey topped by clay roof tiles imported from Europe. Apparently, it even has the traditional chimney! Interior designer Shabnam has revealed that they have retained the steps and different levels typical of the mountains.

The bungalow has awesome views of the Himalayas, and has its own glass conservatory, a sunroom to the east, an industrial gym, and a den lined with memorabilia. The interiors are finished with neutral shades and soft pastels. In a bid to stay true to her roots, our ‘Mountain Girl’ has been handpicking local rugs and cushions woven by artisans from the region.

Now here’s a fitting retreat to escape to when life in B-town gets too crazy to handle…
