In the long-established tradition of Hindi films, it’s the hero who gets the girl… Sorry, Tiger, but it will be Hrithik Roshan, after all, who will have the lissom Vaani Kapoor opposite him in the upcoming YRF film!
And when director Siddharth Anand was looking for ‘young and fresh energy’ in the casting of the female lead, he clearly didn’t have to look further than the corridors of YashRaj. Quite the favourite with the Chopras, Vaani, who has already appeared in two YRF films – Shuddh Desi Romance and Befikre, now returns with YRF’s big ticket film being pitched as double the excitement with Hrithik Roshan vs Tiger Shroff.
It is Siddharth who spilled the beans about the film being primarily a Hrithik vs Tiger combination, with only one girl who is cast opposite Hrithik. “I have loved Vaani in both her films and after meeting her I was fully convinced that she is the best girl for my film,” he says. The film, an action-thriller, is expected to go on floors in April 2018 and release on January 25, 2019.
Coming after the debacle of Befikre, this Hrithik-starrer is definitely a leg-up for Vaani, who had taken the tanking of her last release rather seriously. “I have always felt that I was the biggest risk factor and the biggest bet for Befikre,” she had mused, “because everyone else in the team had achieved something and have already proven their worth in their respective fields.”
Well, the same can be said for the upcoming actioner as well but with Hrithik and Tiger already raising the temperatures with their exchanges, we don’t think Vaani need worry about proving her worth – she does look the sort who can kick some serious tail!
With exchanges – so what if they were planned! – that had Tiger tweeting: “Sir @iHrithik. You are my Guru. But you should know when the game changes. #HrithikVsTiger,” and Hrithik replying, “A Guru will always have that one trick, he doesn’t teach his student. @iTIGERSHROFF #HrithikVsTiger,” we don’t need to be told to ‘Be Ready!’ Bring it on, guys.
