Hyderabad police detains Chiranjeevi's niece Niharika Konidela after conducting raid at rave party; father Naga Babu issues statement on her connection to drugs case

Niharika Konidela, who is the niece of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, was detained by the Hyderabad Police on Saturday night after cops conducted a raid at Pudding and Mink Pub located in Radisson Blu hotel in Banjara Hills. The cops reportedly busted a rave party. Niharika was taken to the police station for questioning. 

Niharika, the daughter of Naga Babu, was questioned for a few hours and was released by noon on Sunday. Visuals of the actress leaving the police station went viral on social media. As per reports, Guntur MP Galla Jayadev’s son Ashok Galla was also detained but there is no official confirmation. Reportedly, BB Telugu season 3 winner Rahul Sipligunj was held too.

Hours after the news made headlines, Naga Babu issued a video statement. Though he confirmed Niharika was detained, he clarified that she has nothing to do with drugs. "My daughter Niharika was present at a pub in a five star hotel last night. Police have nabbed the management of running the pub beyond permitted timings. However, the police have confirmed she is clean and has nothing to do with the drugs that were recovered," Naga Babu said in his statement. 

Niharika is yet to issue a statement.
