Earlier today, PeepingMoon confirmed that Naagin actor Pearl V Puri was arrested under the POSCO Act after being accused of raping a minor girl. Our sources confirmed the news to us and revealed that Pearl is under Police custody for the same.
The actor is accused of molesting and raping his co-star's daughter, who was earlier reported to be 11-years-old. However, now it has been clarified that the victim was just 5-years-old when the incident took place two years back.

Pearl has been arrested under CR IPC 376 AB, r/w POCSO Act 4, 8, 12,19, 21. For the unversed, to deal with child sexual abuse cases, the Government brought in a special law, namely, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in 2012. The Act is a comprehensive law to provide for the protection of children from the offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography while safeguarding the interests of the child at every stage of the judicial process by incorporating child-friendly mechanisms for reporting, recording of evidence, investigation and speedy trial of offences through designated Special Courts.
