Kangana Ranaut’s legal woes are piling on. After multiple FIRs in her name for posting derogatory, inflammatory and seditious tweets and her on-going battle against the Maharashtra government and BMC, the latest is that renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar has filed an elaborate defamation suit against the actress. Akhtar filed the complaint before the Metropolitan Magistrate at Andheri, Mumbai.
The suit was filed after Kangana claimed that the lyricist threatened her to not speak of her alleged relationship with Hrithik Roshan after calling her to his residence. However, Akhtar has claimed that no such threats were issued to the actress. Apparently, Kangana had made defamatory remarks on national and international television against the lyricist. He claimed that the video interview that aired on a news channel has garnered views in lakhs on TV as well as on YouTube.
A source close to the lyricist told a portal, “Javed Saab is by nature very tolerant. But this was going on for too long. Remedial action had to be taken. Javed Saab has filed an elaborate defamation case against Kangana." The report further states that the case has now opened in court and Javed Akhtar will not be settling out of court but is ready for a long battle.
In an earlier interview Kangana had said, “Javed Akhtar called me to his house and said that Rakesh Roshan and family are big people. If you do not apologize to them, then you will not be able to go anywhere. They will put you in jail and you will have no choice but to harm yourself. You can even think of suicide. He said all these things to me. Why did they think that if I do not apologize to Hrithik Roshan, then I will commit suicide? He shouted at me. Angry too. I was having a cucumber sitting at his house."
Akhtar has also alleged that Kangana has dragged his name unnecessarily in connection to the tragic and untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.
