SSR Case: Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea rejected again; actress to be in NCB’s judicial custody till October 6

On September 8, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by NCB in a case related to drugs under the NDPS Act, in connection to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Rhea was booked under IPC sections 20 (B) that deals with production, possession, transportation, and usage of cannabis, 28 (counterfeit), 29, and 27 (A). She was sent to 14-days judicial custody as the Court had rejected her bail plea. On September 5, Mumbai Esplanade Court had sent Rhea's brother Showik and Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda to NCB custody.

Now, Rhea's bail plea has been rejected for the second time. The actress will now remain in NCB’s judicial custody till October 6. ANI had earlier reported that Rhea and her brother Showik had filed a bail application in Bombay High Court. However, soon it was declined and their custody was increased for 14 more days!

Rhea was kept under NCB custody lockup. On the third floor a room was converted in lockup where 3 women constables from Mumbai Police and 2 officials monitored the actress while she remained in custody. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde had earlier given a statement that read, "Travesty of Justice. 3 Central Agencies hounding single woman, just because she was in love with a Drug Addict who was suffering from Mental Health issues for several years under care of 5 Leading Psychiatrists and then committed suicide."

However, no official statement has been received from Rhea's legal team yet!
