AIB Knockout: Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and other stars seek quashing of the case

Actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor along with filmmaker Karan Johar and AIB founder Rohan Joshi, on November 29, sought quashing of the 2015 obscenity case in connection with the AIB Knockout comedy event in Mumbai. An FIR was filed against the celebrities for allegedly using obscene and abusive language during the AIB Knockout event.

The Bombay High Court, in the meantime, reiterated its previous order and directed the city police to refrain from filing a charge sheet against the celebrities in the case.

In February 2015, Sateesh Daundkar filed a complaint with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the Gurgaon court, saying that the show was “vulgar, obscene and pornographic”.

The celebrities, soon after, claimed in their plea that the FIRs filed against them had an ulterior motive and were filed with “mischievous” and intent to seek their quashing.
