Sampat Nehra surveils Salman Khan for 2 days to kill him, arrested

Lawrence Bishnoi's trusted man, Sampat Nehra had been surveilling actor Salman Khan for two days in order to plot an assassination. The gangster was arrested by a special task force of Haryana Police on Wednesday and is now been brought to Gurugram on transit remand.

According to the Haryana Police, as reported by a leading daily, Sampat clicked photographs of the actor and noted his movements around the balcony of his residence at Galaxy Apartment. The police believe the actor was surveiled to assess the distance and weapon required for the assassination.

Deputy inspector general at Haryana Special Task Force, Satheesh Balan said, “Preliminary questioning during the journey from Hyderabad has revealed that Salman Khan was on the gang’s hitlist and Nehra alone had been assigned to execute the operation. He went to Mumbai for two days and clicked photographs, took note of the actor’s movement around the balcony and house in Galaxy Apartment, possibly to gauge the distance and weaponry required."

Another police official also added that Nehra reached the city in the third week of May travelling from Chattisgarh. “He stayed in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. After the first recce, Nehra wanted to maintain a low profile and had been camping in Hyderabad for the past 20 days. He was going to return to Mumbai in a few days for another recce,” he said.

The deputy inspector also added, “Bishnoi is running the network from jail and has been in touch with Nehra and other aides through mobile phones." Balan also added that the police suspects that the gang is aided financially from abroad.

Nehra has been accused in a number of cases of murder, extortion, carjacking and robbery. He was arrested in 2016 in a carjacking case but was released on bail later on.

Earlier in the year, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi of Rajasthan openly issued a death threat to the actor in connection with the hearing in the blackbuck poaching case.

"Salman Khan will be killed here, in Jodhpur... Then he will come to know about our real identity," Bishnoi told media persons while being taken to a Jodhpur court in police security.

Bishnoi who was sentenced to jail on charges of terrorizing traders and extorting them claimed to have been framed as not a single witness was deposed to prove the charges.

"Now, if the police want me to do some major crime, I shall kill Salman Khan and that too in Jodhpur," the gangster had added.
