Earlier this month, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was summoned by Thane police's Crime Branch for questioning over the Call Detail Records scam. Apparently, the acclaimed award-winning actor was allegedly accused of spying on his wife and his name cropped up after the police in Thane nabbed 11 persons, mainly private detectives.

According to statements by some of the accused, Siddiqui had allegedly acquired CDRs of his wife's phone through an advocate by hiring a private sleuth to keep an eye on her contacts and whereabouts.

Well, today, the Thane police arrested Nawazuddin's lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui on the same grounds.

Thane Crime Branch Senior Police Inspector Nitin Thakare had spoken about the CDR case saying, "One of the accused has revealed the name of (Nawazuddin) Siddiqui during interrogation. We have issued summons to him, but he has failed to appear before us for investigations."

Nawazuddin had tweeted about this saying, "Last evening, I was helping my daughter to prepare her school project Hydroelectric Power Generator and went to her school this morning for Project Exhibition. To my surprise, the media had questions about some random allegations on me. #Disgust."
Interestingly, Siddiqui is also Kangana Ranaut's lawyer and has been working with her on the Hrithik Roshan case. The actress had lodged a legal complaint against Hrithik for "misusing" confidential emails and photographs of the time when they were together.
Hrithik later filed a complaint with the cybercrime cell, claiming an imposter had been emailing Kangana from a bogus email ID, pretending to be him. The mud-slinging has continued till date but has taken a back seat for the past few months after Hrithik spoke about it on National TV.
As for Siddiqui's arrest, more details are yet to be revealed.
