TV actor Piyush Sahdev is undergoing tough times. Yesterday, a 23-year old fashion designer who is reportedly his live-in partner, alleged him of raping her! As per reports, 35-year old actor, who was in a relationship with the victim for the last two months, did so after gaining her confidence and promising to build help her build a career in modeling and acting.
Reportedly, Piyush’s family and his estranged wife Akangsha Rawat were unaware of his arrest. Piyush’s sister Meher Vij, told a leading newspaper, "I got to know this from you. When did this happen? I don't know anything at all." The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actress also added, "You know I haven't been able to get in touch with my father so I too do not know anything about this news. Actually, Piyush and I haven't been in touch at all ever since he got married. His wife had some issues so I chose to back off. Whatever contact we have had, has been only through our father," she added.
A case was registered against Piyush on November 20 under IPC Section 376 at Mumbai's Versova Police Station and the actor was picked up and arrested from his house. The police will keep him in custody until November 27 and he won’t be given bail till then. According to recent reports, the girl apparently wasn’t keen on getting Piyush arrested. “The girl is a model looking for a break into the TV space. She approached the police with an expectation that they will cooperate with her and will only threaten Piyush without taking any strict action. However, the case here was dire (after all a rape allegation) and it is only after filing the report she realized what her actions have led to. Also, she does not want herself or her family to be involved in any such controversy," the source claimed.

Akangsha, estranged wife of Sahdev told another leading daily, "I am not in touch with Piyush for almost 4 months, we separated six months ago, so I have no idea if this news is true."
Sahdev was recently in the news for his separation with his wife. There was also news of the actor being romantically involved with someone from the cast and crew of Beyhadh, which was cited as a possible reason for his marital discord. However, Piyush had earlier said, "Our reason for parting ways now is that we both think very differently. Our lifestyle and ways of living are really different. We've always had problems because of this and were about to separate earlier but then eventually got back together thinking we'll cope up but now we're utterly sure that we can't spend the rest of our lives this way."
Sahdev had made his TV debut with Meet Mila De Rabba, has worked in shows like Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and Beyhadh to name a few.
