Aditya Pancholi granted interim protection till August 3 by Mumbai Court in rape case

Aditya Pancholi who has been booked under a rape charge filed by a top Bollywood actress got some interim relief from the court. The Dindoshi sessions court in Mumbai has granted interim protection to Pancholi till August 3. The FIR against Pancholi was filed on June 28 at the Versova police station under sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc. with intent to commit an offence), 384 (extortion), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Pancholi has been accused of trying to force the actress to develop a relationship with him by spiking her drinks between 2004 and 2006. Her sister has also alleged that Pancholi tried to extort Rs 1 crore from her for her grocery expenses that he claimed her spent on her. The actress had earlier said that she had tried to complain to police but was let off with just a warning.

However, Pancholi has denied all allegations leveled against him by the actress. He had said, “I am being falsely implicated in this case. I have all the evidence and video in this case. I am ready to cooperate with the Mumbai Police. If they will call me for my statement, then I will cooperate. I am ready for investigation. I knew that a case will be registered against me. I am not going anywhere. The police have not approached me after the FIR was registered.”

Pancholi’s wife Zarina Wahab has also negated the accusations and said that the actress was in a relationship with Pancholi and is crying foul after the relationship broke up.
