Live music enveloped the atelier as NEXA presented JJV Kapurthala By JJ Valaya at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Garden.
The JJV Kapurthala By JJ Valaya collection was inspired by the unique travelogues of Maharaja Jagatjit Singh of Kapurthala, the land of JJ Valaya’s forefathers, the Ahluwalias. Long before the age of modern jetliners and social media, his travels in the United States, Argentina, Chile, Japan and the farthest corners of Siberia would create a sensation.
The celebrated designer carefully sifted through never seen before photographs and extracts from his diaries to interpret the story of a ruler who wanted to bring the world to his people and, indeed, take his people to the world.
The showcase borrowed nuances from these travels and was presented as an experimental and premium line of creative interpretations.
And arriving in style in a car was showstopper actor Rashmika Mandanna.
