Trendy and timeless tempo sets the tone for FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week's phygital edition

Virtual is the new reality! Well, that seems to be the case as far as fashion weeks are concerned. It was time for celebrated designer Anamika Khanna is present her latest collection titled ‘Timeless the World’ at the opening showcase of the FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week, a joint fashion week organized by powerhouses of fashion and beauty in India - Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) jointly organised by Lakmé & RISE Worldwide (formerly IMG Reliance); and Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).

The opening show kick-started the five-day phygital fashion event. You saw live action on your laptop or phone as artists went around painting on the garments of the models standing on pedestals - a sort of different strokes for different folks. The paparazzi may be missing in a virtual setting but the multitude of cameras flashing was captured to put you in the mood of an actual show on the long ramp.

It was all very elegant and exquisite with the rush of models and the burst of confetti showers. You also witnessed the golden lips and the golden eye shadow at the end along with shades of yellow and green, happy hues to please you.

Anamika’s collection is modern while recognizing the timelessness of Indian heritage. It is a collaboration of art and textile and will be an homage to the fact that what is created will one day perish. What is left behind is legacy, and what matters most is what you do with it.

And though the duration of the show was just 4 minutes and 19 seconds you could call it ‘Timeless’.
