Staying true to their roots, designer duo Gauri and Nainika presented their ‘fresh, free-spirited and as always, utterly feminine’ SS21 collection.

Opting for quintessential floral prints and peppy polkas, the collection featured bright hues ranging from divine whites to deep tones of blue and black.

The couture lineup featured extravagant sleeves, thigh-high slits and off-shouldered drama with some ruffle and frill detailing. Pretty yet same old!

SIDDHARTHA TYLER

Titled ‘Cult,’ Siddhartha’s couture film was an eclectic mix of bold hues, structured elements and high-octane glamour.

Keeping the theme pretty dark, the designer teamed up textured coats with skirts that featured butterfly motifs. Starting with dark and black hues bearing colourful detailing, the collection gradually shifted towards rearing reds and navy blues.

Structured silhouettes with sharp cuts, extravagant ruffles and brocade detailing were a prominent part of Tyler’s presentation. This collection offered an edge to classic Indian ensembles.

Called ‘Floral Opulence,’ Ranna’s collection focused on the bohemian vibe and presented us with soothing pastels, floral skirts, flowy dresses along with its signature prints.

The mood of the collection begins with soft tones of white to earthy browns and bewitching blacks.

Pleated skirts, belted breezy dresses, tunics and maxis made for a chunk of this collection.

However, the feathered detailing around the eyes seemed to be eerily similar to that from Maison Valentino’s SS19’s runway presentation. Co-incidence much?

Suneet’s collection, 'The Eternal Lightness of Being' focused on soft colours, dainty embellishments while featuring the belted feminine drapes, high-low kurtas and contemporary lehengas.

Elements like embellished jackets, puffy sleeves, ruffled hemlines were quite dominant in this collection.

However, just like Ranna, Suneet’s showstopper piece consisted of a structured shouldered blouse that bore resemblance to Amit Aggarwal’s Couture 2020 collection from India Couture Week. Interesting…
